What a glorious day! The Foodie Bloggers' Challenge was a success, judging from the response and attendance today. The food cooking demo was a hit. It was a real garden party with real cooking taking place on the lawn. LOL!

I am really amazed at the talent shown and the quality of food being showcased today. Oh! Everyone was at their hearts content with enough food to go around. Maurina was right when she said to make sure everyone brings my house down. They actually did!

food demo 576

Everyone seemed to have a great time!! Come 5.00pm, everyone present was invited to vote for their favourite five dishes. With so many dishes to try, everyone was really in a fix as they had only 30 minutes to submit their votes. I purposely asked everyone present to be the judge so that the popular dish will stand out and as everyone has a different taste or judgment of what is best for them! It worked!!

I was really impressed with my son Syam. Although he did not contribute any recipe but decided to contribute a dish to the event. Bunny's apprentice? He made these lovely cakes. A 12 years old can make this....I hope it will spur his interest in cooking or baking!

We set up an informal voting commision... LOL! that consisted of lovely Izza, Nonnie and boyfriend Bobby who took time to count all the votes and presented me with the result at almost 6.00 pm. Bobby looked stressed trying to figure out someone's handwriting! LOL!

Congrats to everyone that won the challenge today. Most of the winning recipes can be found in the book that we are going to publish this week. It should be ready before 3rd May 2009, God willing. That is the next challenging task for the team. Will update you more on the book, pricing and where to get them. At this moment, we are going to produce 300 copies only as a generous local printer agreed to sponsor for the cost of printing. To date, we got 30 copies being requested to be reserved. I am not kidding you! We got orders from our students in U.K. and Australia. We also got friends from Singapore, Kazakhstan and Indonesia wanting copies! So, I hope many of you will buy the book and support our charity drive to support the Special Olympics Brunei participation in the Games in 2011.

Thank you to everyone that came to the crib and participated in today's challenge, including the press from Brunei Times and Borneo Bulletin, covering the event. Thank you to the prizes contributors and the team that worked behind the scenes in making the event a success! Much appreciated.

A quick shout out to Qeelz , Hiero, Joe Jocon, Chef Pol, Nikita and many others who came! It was a pleasure meeting all of you. Finally! hehee.

Till the next update!
